State-owned telecom company BSNL has introduced a special mobile plan for students, which has been launched on the occasion of Children’s Day. According to BSNL CMD A. Robert J. Ravi, the company is working on a plan to introduce special plans for students and women and this student special plan is the first step in that direction.
What is BSNL’s student special plan?
This new plan is a limited-time offer, specially designed for students. At around ₹8.96 per day, or a recharge of ₹251, it provides users with all the essential features including calling, data and SMS.

The country’s own 4G network
According to BSNL chief Ravi, this plan has been launched at a time when the company is setting up its indigenous 4G network across the country. He said that India is the fifth country in the world to have developed its own 4G technology, and BSNL has been involved in its development and deployment for a long time.
Ravi says that this data-rich plan will give students the best experience of the ‘Make in India’ 4G network. With 100GB of data, they will have the opportunity to test the quality of the new network for a full 28 days.
Airtel’s Rs 349 recharge plan
Airtel’s Rs 349 plan is specially designed for users who want to enjoy high-quality entertainment with high data speeds every day. This plan offers 1.5GB data per day, valid for 28 days, along with unlimited calling and 100 SMS per day.
