Goa demolishes Luthra brothers’ illegal Vagator beach shack. Authorities issue Blue Notice and seek deportation of fugitives from Thailand after fire killed 25.
The hammer is finally dropping in Goa. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had enough. That happened. And then the bulldozers followed.
Goa authorities started demolishing the Romeo Lane beach shack in Vagator yesterday. This is the second property linked to the Luthra brothers—Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra—who owned the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub where 25 people died in that horrific weekend fire.

The Cleanup Begins
The thing is, the shack demolition started late Tuesday evening after the CM directed officials to act immediately.
Why Vagator? Officials said the Vagator beach shack was built illegally on government land. What happened: The fire gutted the Arpora club around 11:45 PM on Saturday. Less than six hours later, they were boarding an IndiGo flight (6E 1073) from New Delhi to Phuket at 5:30 AM Sunday. This intent to evade the police is clear, or nothing.

The Hunt: Goa Police are working with Interpol and the CBI. They have secured a Blue Corner Notice against the duo. They are also moving fast to cancel the Luthra brothers’ passports and get a formal arrest warrant, hoping to secure their deportation from Thailand instead of a long, messy extradition process. Police teams even searched their North Delhi residence, but they were already gone.
So far, five managers and operational staff—including the chief general manager and bar manager—have been arrested. A fifth person, Bharat Kohli, who managed the daily operations for the owners, was also arrested on Monday. The net is widening. The focus now is completely on the owners who fled and the ongoing demolition of their illegal empire. The reckoning is just starting.
