In a major move to challenge the dominance of Google Pay and PhonePe, Rediff.com (backed by Infibeam Avenues) has received final approval from the NPCI for its Third-Party Application Provider (TPAP) license. On December 29, 2025, the company officially began Closed User Group (CUG) testing, signaling a public rollout in early 2026.

RediffPay isn’t just another payment app; it is being positioned as a “wealth-multiplier” that integrates spending with saving and credit.

  • Parent Company: Infibeam Avenues (holding an 82% stake) is leveraging Rediff’s existing base of 60 million unique users.

  • Banking Partner: Axis Bank will serve as the Payment System Provider (PSP) bank for settling all UPI transactions.

  • AI Integration: The platform will use AI-driven credit scoring and fraud detection to offer instant credit lines to “new-to-credit” consumers.

3. Why This Matters

Currently, the Indian UPI market is a duopoly. RediffPay is the first major purely Indian-owned player attempting to break in by offering a “Super App” experience where email, content, commerce, and payments converge.
