In the year 2014, the Modi government had appealed to the countrymen to open Jan Dhan accounts.

Now the luck of Jan Dhan account holders is going to wake up, because the government is going to give benefits on a large scale. If you have Jan Dhan account in any bank, then you are happy because the government is going to give money on a large scale.

Jan Dhan account holders will get the benefit of Rs 10,000 from the central government. The central government had started the facility of Jan Dhan account to develop banking facilities among the customers.

Apart from this, the money of all government schemes is also available to the general public in this account. The government provides overdraft facility to customers in this account.

You can still take an overdraft up to Rs 10,000 even if there will be no balance in your account. Earlier, the salary used to be Rs 5000, which has now been increased to Rs 10,000 by the government.

The maximum age limit for overdraft facility in this account is 65 years. To avail the overdraft facility, your Jan Dhan account should be at least 6 months old. Failure to do so will result in an overdraft of up to Rs 2,000 only.

Under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, you can open an account for free. Also, there is no need to maintain any minimum balance. Along with the Jan Dhan account, the bank gives the facility of overdraft to the customers.

Through this card, you can make purchases as well as withdraw money from the account and you can get many special offers.

If you open the account now, then customers get accidental insurance cover up to Rs 2 lakh from the government.

Apart from this, if you are taking advantage of any government scheme, then its money comes directly to your account. You get the facility of interest on the amount deposited in Jan Dhan account.
