Bihar Pregnant Job Scam Busted: ₹10 Lakh Fraud in Nawada 2026

The “All India Pregnant Job” Scam: How Bihar‘s Nawada Police Busted a Bizarre Fraud

In a major crackdown on January 9–10, 2026, the Nawada Cyber Police in Bihar dismantled a sophisticated online racket. Operating under headlines like “All India Pregnant Job Service,” fraudsters lured men with the promise of earning up to ₹10 lakh for impregnating childless women.

The scam represents a growing trend of “social engineering” frauds that leverage financial desperation and social stigma to silence victims.

1. The Modus Operandi: How the Scam Trapped Victims

The fraudsters used a tiered psychological approach to drain victims’ bank accounts.

Phase Fraudster’s Action Victim’s Requirement
Hook Post ads for “Pregnant Jobs” on Facebook/WhatsApp. Clicking the link/Contacting via WhatsApp.
Lure Share photos of models; promise ₹10L (or ₹5L if unsuccessful). Selection of a “client” from photos.
Trust Claim a “meeting” is scheduled at a local luxury hotel. Payment of Registration Fees (₹799–₹2,000).
Drain Demand “security deposits,” “medical charges,” or “hotel tax.” Repeated UPI transfers in small installments.
Exit Block the victim once they refuse to pay more. Realization of the fraud (often too late).

2. Legal Actions & Arrests (January 2026)

The Nawada Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhinav Dhiman confirmed that the investigation led to a raid in Manwa village (Hisua police station area).

  • Accused Identified: Ranjan Kumar (son of Sukhdev Prasad) and Devanandan Kumar (son of Anil Prasad) were arrested.

  • Evidence Seized: Four mobile phones containing fake profiles, model photos, and transaction logs.

  • Charges Filed: A case has been registered under:

    • Section 318 of BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita): Dealing with cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property.

    • Section 319 of BNS: Cheating by personation.

    • Information Technology (IT) Act: For online impersonation and fraudulent use of communication devices.

3. A Recurring Menace in Nawada

This is not the first time this specific scam has surfaced in the region.

  • January 2025: A similar “Baby Birth Service” racket was busted with three arrests.

  • December 2023: Eight individuals were arrested for running a “Playboy Service” scam.

  • The “Stigma” Factor: Police noted that hundreds of men have been conned, but only a fraction come forward because they are embarrassed to admit they were paying for “sexual favors” or “pregnancy services.”
