BSNL has launched 4G mobile service in the national capital Delhi on Friday, 15 August on the occasion of Independence Day. This service will currently be provided through the network of a partner company.
Starting with the ‘4G-as-a-Service’ model
BSNL said that 4G has been launched in Delhi on the ‘4G-as-a-Service’ model. In this, BSNL will use the network of its partner, so that customers having BSNL SIM on a 4G supporting mobile device will get 4G coverage immediately. According to the company, this arrangement will continue till the construction of indigenous 4G network is completed in the entire country.
Instant benefits for new customers
According to BSNL, through this model, new customers in Delhi will get 4G service without any wait. This means that the benefits of both voice calls and high-speed data will be available immediately.
BSNL Chairman and Managing Director A Robert J Ravi said that from today, new customers in Delhi can use reliable BSNL 4G for voice and high-speed data. We have adopted the 4G-as-a-Service model to provide immediate coverage across the city, while we are also building our own network infrastructure. This initiative of BSNL is considered an important step towards improving network quality and internet speed in Delhi.
