Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) manages the accounts of all its subscribers. For this it is necessary that the employees update all their details accurately. If you have changed institute or your salary account has changed, then it is also necessary to update its details on the EPFO portal.
It is necessary for the employees working in the government or private sector to contribute to the Provident Fund (PF) account. These accounts are managed by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO).
Along with the PF account, complete details related to the employee are also kept, in which their mobile number, name-address, details of the nominee besides the bank account also have complete information. If a person has changed his bank account in which salary comes, then it will also have to be updated in the PF account. EPFO issues Universal Account Number (UAN) to all the employees, which does not change even if the employee changes his/her location. If you want to update your bank account, then this work can be done through UAN portal only.
Bank account can be changed by following these steps –
- First of all login to the EPFO portal using your username and password.
- After this select the ‘Manage’ option at the top.
- On coming down in this, you will have to select the ‘KYC’ option.
- Then you will be asked the option of document type in which select the bank.
- After this, you will update your bank account, IFSC code and other information and click on ‘Save’.
- After updating the details, you can check it by going to ‘KYC pending for approval’ option.
- If everything is correct, then provide proof of document to your employer, your bank account will be updated.
After filling your bank details on the portal
, you submit the documents to your employer and it is verified by your employer, then update by going to the ‘Digitally Approved KYC’ option of the EPFO portal You will be able to see the bank account done. Apart from this, SMS will also come to your registered mobile number after getting the approval.
Add Salary Account Only
If you want to update your bank account in EPFO, then it has to be kept in mind that only salary account should be added to it. Actually, the information about the PF account also comes on the mobile number associated with the account in which your employer puts the salary. The update of the contribution in your PF account every month is also available through mobile. Therefore, by linking the salary account, you will be able to take proper advantage of this facility.
