And then the chaos followed. While the Goharganj police were transporting him back to Raisen, the vehicle got a puncture near Kirat Nagar village. They had to stop.

During this halt, the accused, Salman, tried to bolt. He made a run for it. This forced the police to act fast—a short encounter was conducted to prevent his escape. He sustained a gunshot wound in the leg. The operation showcased excellent coordination between the Bhopal Gandhinagar police and the Goharganj force.

Immediately after the incident, Salman was rushed to Bhopal’s JP Hospital for medical care. SDOP Sheela Surana, the senior officer overseeing the case, confirmed the details. Her assurance was clear: the accused will face the full force of the law.
