EPFO Pension: EPFO provides 7 types of pension, private sector employees should know this

EPFO Account holders latest update: Often all employed people deposit money in Employees Provident Fund i.e. EPFO every month (EPFO claim rules). Let us tell you, this amount is automatically deposited in EPF as a contribution from the salary.

Recently, great news has come for EPFO account holders. Actually, in some cases, the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO News) has made the rules for settling claims easier. Let us know in detail which rules have changed-

In some cases, the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has simplified the rules for settling claims. According to the EPFO circular, EPFO members will not need to provide the image of certified bank (EPFO claim) passbook or check leaf. Till now, it was necessary to provide a photo of the checkbook to get a claim from EPF. But now it will not be required. Other (EPFO claim verification process) methods will be used to verify the claim.

    Online bank KYC verification:

KYC information will be checked directly from your bank or National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).

Employer verification through DSC: Your employer can use Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) to verify your bank account information (ONLINE KYC verification process).

    Verification of seeded Aadhaar number:

UIDAI will validate the Aadhaar number with your bank (Aadhaar number activation). This will speed up the online claim settlement process and reduce the number of rejected claims as online claim verification will be done without the need for images of bank passbooks or cheque leaves.

EPFO also laid down eligibility criteria

Validate bank data: If your bank details have been previously validated through KYC or any other method, you will not need to submit any documents.

Claim amount: This exemption may apply to claims that are below a certain limit.

The best supporting paperwork for EPF claim is an original, cancelled cheque with the member’s name, bank account number and IFSC code prominently visible. This serves as your bank account information to settle your claim.

Most rejections in EPF claim happen due to not having the correct paperwork. You can provide an image of the first page of your bank passbook (EPFO news today) but send a copy of the page which is duly authenticated (stamped and signed by the bank manager). It should also have the bank’s stamp across it.

How to submit claim online? (EPFO online claiming process)

Step 1: Log in to the member interface using your UAN credentials.

Step 2: Verify that the KYC and eligibility details of the member’s UAN are correct and complete.

Step 3: Select the correct claim.

Step 4: To file a claim online, verify with the OTP received on the cell number registered with UIDAI (UIDAI registration).

    Eligibility Criteria

You must have a registered member status and a valid Universal Account Number (UAN). Your Aadhaar number, bank account number and other KYC details (EPFO eligibility) must be included and verified in your UAN account.
