Nothing is doing something completely different with the Phone (3a) Community Edition. This is not just a fan survey, let’s be real. It’s a limited-release phone built with input from its own global community. That happened. And then a highly personalized, unique device followed.

The Co-Creation Vibe

The thing is, Nothing started this whole “Community Edition Project” because they want co-creation, not just boring consumer feedback. Over 700 people submitted ideas this year, showing how much independent creators want to work directly with a major tech brand.

Four winners got to shape this phone, and their contributions are specific:

  • Hardware & Packaging: Emre Kayganacl won this one. The aesthetic? It’s a massive throwback. It draws inspiration from those fun, playful tech gadgets from the late 1990s and early 2000s. The final color is a Frosted Teal—it’s bold, it’s nostalgic.

  • The Accessory: They added an accessory category for the first time, or nothing. The winner was a collectible called Dice, designed by Ambrogio Tacconi and Louis Aymonod. It’s a cube that uses Nothing’s signature Ndot 55 font. It brings in global symbols of play, which matches their brand philosophy.

  • Software: Designer Jad Zock customized the lock screen clock. The design uses different font weights for better readability and to reduce visual clutter. The phone also packs four exclusive wallpapers, designed to visually match the new color themes.

  • Marketing: Even the campaign, called Made Together, came from a contributor, Sushruta Sarkar. It focuses on the shared process of creation.

The Price and The Drop

So, this is a collectors’ item. This is not a mass-market push.

  • Price: It’s set at ₹28,999.

  • Storage: It comes in just one configuration: 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

  • Limited Stock: Nothing will only produce 1,000 units globally.

And here’s the kicker for India: you can’t just order it online. The model is available exclusively during a tiny, four-hour drop event on December 13, 2025, in Bengaluru. The venue is 33&Brew, Prestige Technostar. If you want this community-designed piece of tech history, you’ve got to physically go there. It’s a total frenzy waiting to happen. The scarcity makes it precious.
