A man, S Balamurugan, 32. He kills his estranged wife, S Sirpriya, 30. It happened right there, at the women’s hostel where she was living. He uses a sickle. A blunt, savage weapon. That’s what he brought with him. She was working nearby, keeping her kids with her mother back in Ganapathy. She left Tirunelveli, trying to start over. And then he tracked her down.

The thing is, Balamurugan suspected she was seeing one of his relatives. He saw red over it, or nothing. They had already been arguing. Over the phone, that’s how it started. She refused to come back.

And here’s the kicker. He travels to Coimbatore. Shows up at the hostel. They meet in the waiting area. They argue again. That confrontation happened. And then he pulls out the sickle and hacks her multiple times. Right there. She died on the spot. Women in the hostel saw it and they just ran. They called the police.

What he did next is… chilling.

He sits down on a chair. Doesn’t flee. He takes his phone, sits next to her body—it’s lying there on the floor. He takes a selfie. With the corpse. And posts it straight to his WhatsApp status. The message was something about her cheating him. “Payment for betrayal is death,” other reports are saying. He essentially confessed to the world. And then he waited for the cops.

Rathinapuri police arrived. They found him sitting right there. He was arrested. The investigation is ongoing, obviously, trying to piece together the entire timeline of how he got that photo, the message. It’s a complete, messy breakdown of a family conflict turning deadly.

End…
