Samsung is reportedly shifting gears for its next big reveal. Unlike the January launch we saw this year for the S25, the Galaxy S26 series is now tipped for a February 2026 debut in San Francisco.

The thing is, Samsung’s had a bit of a chaotic year, and moving back to a February window (like they did with the S23) suggests they’re taking their time to get the “final polish” right. Or nothing. Let’s be real, with Apple already pushing 256GB as the base for the iPhone 17, Samsung is feeling the pressure to make these “Unpacked” upgrades count.

The Chips: 2nm Power vs. Snapdragon Dominance

This is where it gets interesting. Samsung just officially unveiled the Exynos 2600, the world’s first 2nm smartphone chip.

  • The Global Split: While the standard S26 and S26 Plus will likely use a mix of Exynos 2600 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 depending on where you live, the S26 Ultra is a different story.

  • The Kicker: Recent FCC listings suggest the Ultra is going Snapdragon-only worldwide. No more “chipset lottery” for the flagship buyers. Those too.

Galaxy S26 Ultra: The Design Shift

The iconic “sharp corners” might finally be history. Renders and leaked case designs show the S26 Ultra moving toward rounder edges and a unified, pill-shaped camera module—very much like the Galaxy Fold series.

The “New” Features

What draws people to the S26 Ultra this year is the rumored move to Qi2 magnetic wireless charging. Samsung is reportedly fixing the interference issues with the S Pen so you can finally use MagSafe-style accessories without a special case.

And then there’s the AI. One UI 8.5 is expected to introduce “Real-time Video AI,” allowing you to remove unwanted objects from moving footage, not just still photos. It’s an ongoing effort to keep “Galaxy AI” ahead of the curve.
