This entire process is about updating the electoral rolls in time for upcoming elections. If your form is incomplete, your name might not appear correctly on the final list.

How to Fill and Submit the SIR Enumeration Form

This requires linking your EPIC (Voter ID) to your mobile number first.

  1. Start Point: Go to voters.eci.gov.in.

  2. Form Selection: Click on “Fill Enumeration Form” in the Services section.

  3. The Linkage: Before filling the main form, you must link your EPIC to your mobile number. If it’s not linked, submit Form-8.

    • The Hack: Under Form-8, specifically select “Correction of Entries in Existing Electoral Roll” and then the “Mobile Number” option only.

  4. Log In Again: Log back in once the linkage is confirmed.

  5. Submit with Aadhaar: Fill out the enumeration form (including previous SIR data) and submit using Aadhaar-based e-sign. The names on your EPIC and Aadhaar must match for this to work.

The Kicker: How to Check Your Form Submission Status

This is the most direct way to check if your form—whether filled by you online or collected by a Booth Level Officer (BLO) offline—has actually been uploaded to the ECI system.

  1. Start Point: Go to voters.eci.gov.in.

  2. Login & Search:

    • Select ‘Fill Enumeration Form.’

    • Click ‘Sign Up’ and register (mobile, email, captcha).

    • Select ‘Login’, enter your mobile number, OTP, and log in.

  3. The Final Check: Enter your EPIC (Voter-ID) number and click Search.

  4. The Result: The status appears instantly.

    • Success: You will see a message: “Your form has already been submitted with mobile number XXXXX…”

    • Failure/Missing: If you don’t see that message, or the form is blank, the form hasn’t been uploaded. You need to re-submit or contact the BLO assigned to your locality immediately.

If you find your status pending for too long, or your name is still wrong, you need to head out to the ECI’s Grievance Redressal Terminal for resolution.
