UP Police Recruitment 2026: 3-Year Age Relaxation for 32,679 Posts

In a major relief for thousands of aspirants, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has approved a one-time 3-year age relaxation for the ongoing recruitment of 32,679 constable-level posts. This decision, confirmed via an official government order on January 5, 2026, directly addresses the grievances of youth who became overage during the pandemic and recruitment delays.

1. Revised Age Limits (As of July 1, 2025)

The 3-year relaxation applies to all categories (General, EWS, OBC, SC, and ST).

2. Recruitment Breakdown (32,679 Posts)

This drive covers several key wings of the Uttar Pradesh Police and Jail Department:

  • Constable (Civil Police): 10,469 posts

  • PAC (Provincial Armed Constabulary): 15,131 posts

  • Jail Warder (Male/Female): 3,385 posts

  • Special Security Force (UPSSF): 1,341 posts

  • Women Battalion: 2,282 posts

  • Mounted Police: 71 posts

3. Important Dates & Application Process

Candidates must complete the One Time Registration (OTR) on the UPPRPB portal before filling out the main form.

  • Application Start Date: December 31, 2025

  • Application Last Date: January 30, 2026

  • Fee Payment Deadline: January 30, 2026

  • Correction Window: Closes on February 2, 2026

  • Application Fee: ₹500 (Gen/OBC/EWS) | ₹400 (SC/ST)

4. Eligibility & Selection Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Must have passed Class 12 (Intermediate) from a recognized board.

  • Selection Stages: 1. Written Exam: Offline (OMR), 300 marks (GK, Hindi, Reasoning, Maths).

    2. DV & PST: Document Verification and Physical Standard Test (Height/Chest).

    3. PET: Running (4.8 km in 25 min for males; 2.4 km in 14 min for females).

    4. Medical Exam: Final fitness check.
