Vi introduces cheapest plan with unlimited calling and data validity of 180 days

0

Vodafone Idea (Vi) has brought a new plan. This plan is specially designed for those users who want to recharge for a long time. The validity of this plan is 180 days.

Vodafone Idea (Vi) has taken an important step towards strengthening its prepaid portfolio by launching a new prepaid plan of ₹ 1049. This plan is specially designed for those users who want to recharge for a long time and whose data needs are less but make more calls. The validity of this plan is 180 days i.e. after recharging once, you will not need to recharge again for about 6 months.

What will you get in this plan?

  • Unlimited voice calling: Unlimited calls to any network in India
  • 12GB high-speed data: For a period of 180 days
  • 1800 SMS: For regular messaging

If you exceed the given data or SMS limit, the additional charge will be something like this:

  • Data: ₹0.50 per MB
  • Local SMS: ₹1 per SMS
  • STD SMS: ₹1.50 per SMS

For which users is this plan?

This plan of Vi has been designed keeping in mind those users who do more voice calling rather than more data. Such as:

  • Senior citizens (who mostly prefer to talk on calls)
  • Consumers in rural areas
  • Dual-SIM users (who use one SIM only for calling)

Company’s strategy and importance of the plan

By bringing such long validity plans, Vodafone Idea is not only trying to retain its existing customers, but is also saving them from the hassle of recharging again and again. This will especially benefit customers living in non-metro and semi-urban areas.

This move of Vi is part of their strategy to keep ARPU (Average Revenue Per User) stable and increase stability among customers.

Given the increasing competition from companies like Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel, it has become necessary for Vodafone Idea to launch such plans to retain its prepaid customers. According to the latest data from TRAI, Vi is still facing a lot of challenges in adding 4G user base and new customers. In such a situation, this plan can prove to be an important step for the company.
