After the approval of the Finance Ministry, there is a possibility of increase in the pension of the employees working on different posts from Rs.800 to Rs.16 thousand. The demand for rectifying this discrepancy in pension has been pending for a long time.

The way has now been cleared for all the bank employees who retired before November 1, 2022, to get more pension in the country. In the meeting held between the Indian Banks Association i.e. IBA and Bank Union, it has been agreed that this benefit will also be given to the employees who retired before the bank. Along with the day off, the issue of cheap health insurance was also to be discussed, but no decision has been taken on it yet. According to sources, all the pending cases will be decided within 4-6 months.

CH Venkatachalam, general secretary of the All India Bank Employees Association, has told Hindustan that a decision in this regard has been taken in the June 28 meeting. According to him, bank employees who retire after November 1, 2022, get 100 per cent benefit of DA, while for old employees, a limit was set to take advantage of DA and they were not given full benefit. An agreement has been reached in this regard in the meeting held with IBA. The Finance Ministry will be informed about this decision and after that retired employees will start getting enhanced pension or family pension.

Estimated to benefit two lakh pensioners

According to the information, about two lakh pensioners are expected to benefit from this decision. After the approval of the Finance Ministry, there is a possibility of increase in the pension of the employees working on different posts from Rs.800 to Rs.16 thousand. Retired bank employees have been demanding for a long time to rectify this discrepancy in pension. In the month of June, All India Bank Pensioners and Retired Federation (AIBPARC), an organization of retired bank employees, held talks with the Finance Minister in this regard. The Finance Minister had also asked the IBA to resolve the issue at the earliest.
