7th Pay Commission : The Narendra Modi-led government is expected to give 1.5 years or 18 months of dearness allowance arrears of Rs 2 lakh simultaneously to central government employees.

7th Pay Commission DA Arear Big Update: The Narendra Modi-led government is expected to give 1.5 years or 18 months Dearness Allowance (DA) arrears of Rs 2 lakh to central government employees simultaneously. Employees are continuously demanding withheld DA from January 2020 to June 2021.

The dearness allowance is expected to be increased by 3 per cent to 34 per cent with effect from January 1, 2022. According to media reports, the employees will be given full salary in the month of March, which will also include DA arrears. This DA arrear will be of January and February salary.

The government employees expected that the government would consider giving DA arrears and find a solution soon. According to Shiv Gopal Mishra, Secretary (Staff Side) of the National Council of JCM, the council has placed a demand from the government but no solution has been found so far.

According to sources, talks have been held with the cabinet secretary, but a solution can be found on this only after the budget. Labor union demands that one time settlement of dearness allowance arrears should be done.

According to Mishra, a joint meeting of the JCM with the officials of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and the Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure is to be held soon. It is expected that 18 months DA arrears will be discussed in this meeting and due to elections, assurance can be given on 18 months arrears from the government.

DA arrears will get Rs 2 lakh

The DA arrears of Level-1 employees will be between Rs 11,880 to Rs 37,000. At the same time, DA is calculated by multiplying the current rate of dearness allowance by the basic pay as DA arrears of Rs 1,44,200 to Rs 2,18,200 for Level-13 employees.

DA is given to government employees and public sector employees and pensioners. It is given to the employees to help them with their living expenses.
