Now it has to be seen whether the salary of government employees will increase from April 1 or they will get a big shock. It is expected that this dearness allowance, which will be implemented from January 1, can be announced before Holi. Apart from this, news is coming to give another relief to the government employees.

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that the government is preparing to implement the Seventh Pay Commission, for which Rs 6000 crore has been earmarked. Earlier it was discussed that the government will implement the new rule from January 1. CM Bommai told that the report of change in the salary of the employees according to the Seventh Pay Commission will be presented by the committee headed by former Chief Secretary Sudhakar Rao.

After presenting the state budget for the financial year 2023-24, the CM said that the additional amount would be provided in the supplementary budget. The report of the Seventh Pay Commission will be implemented from the new financial year itself. This is a blow for those who were expecting it to be implemented from January 1.

Interest free loan up to 5 lakh

He said that the committee will present an interim or final report, on which immediate action will be taken by the government. Earlier, in order to make the farmers financially strong, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai had increased the limit of budget given to the farmers from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. Apart from this, provision of interest-free loan has been made for need-based loan facility for activities related to agriculture. The government has decided to give an additional subsidy of Rs 10,000 in the year 2023-24 to the ‘Kisan Credit Card’ holders under a new scheme ‘Bhu Shree’.

This is how dearness allowance is calculated

Information has also been given in the notification as to how the dearness allowance will be calculated. The calculation of DA will be done according to the revised basic pay and non-allowance only. If there is no other allowance then the basic pay and DA will be calculated. This increased DA will be applicable to teachers and other employees of government-aided institutions as well as employees of local bodies. Whereas in the case of pension, it will be the responsibility of the pension disbursing authority to calculate the amount of dearness relief on the revised pension and allocate the amount of pension amount in each individual case.
