7th Pay Commission Latest Update: There is good news for central employees amid the wait for the increase in dearness allowance. Under the Seventh Pay Commission, the Defense Ministry has released a new update for the employees of the Ministry of Defense. The Defense Ministry has revised the minimum qualifications for promotion of its employees.

The revision of the Defense Ministry will be applicable to defense employees and soldiers covered under the 7th Pay Commission. The Defense Ministry issued an office memorandum in this regard on August 22. In which the Defense Ministry has made changes in the minimum qualification for promotion of service defense civilian employees.

In the notification issued by the Ministry of Defense for the promotion of employees, it has been said that it will vary according to different levels and work experience.

  • For promotion, 3 years experience has been fixed for Level 1 to 2.
  • While 3 years for level 1 to 3 and 3 to 8 years experience standard has been kept for level two to level 4.
  • On the other hand, for promotion, there should be 1 to 12 years of experience for employees up to level 17.

It is being told that this new update will be implemented with immediate effect. That is, the employees who fulfill these eligibility conditions will be promoted with immediate effect.

Meanwhile, more than one crore central employees and pensioners of the Center are waiting for increase in dearness allowance and dearness relief. According to reports, this time their DA and DR may increase by 3 to 4 percent. If there is an increase of 3 percent in DA, it will increase from 42 to 45 percent. On the other hand, if there is an increase of 4 percent, it will be 46 percent. If everything goes well, this increase can be considered effective from July 1, 2023.
