7th Pay Commission: Another good news has been received for central employees in the matter of dearness allowance. Now his dearness allowance (DA Hike) may increase to 42 percent. The inflation data required to calculate DA will be available on the morning of January 1, 2023.

This will happen because the industrial inflation figures would have come. It is only from these figures that when and how much the dearness allowance (DA Hike) of central employees will increase in proportion to inflation. These figures are released in the AICPI index.

How long and by how much will DA Hike increase?
Dearness Allowance (DA Hike) of the employees is to be in January 2023. However, it will be announced in March. But, it will be considered applicable only from January 2023. Their dearness allowance will increase on the basis of half yearly figures from July 2022 to December 2022. The numbers that will come on the morning of January 1 will be till November 2022. It is clearly visible from the numbers received so far that the dearness allowance can increase up to 4%. However, for this, the AICPI index will have to increase by 0.4 points in both November and December.

What do experts believe on DA Hike?

Experts are also of the opinion that looking at the current situation and AICPI index, it seems that there will be a jump of 4% in DA. But, retail inflation came down in November. In such a situation, the data of both November and December will have to be monitored. If there is no change in the index number, then the allowance can also be increased at the rate of 3 percent.

4% increase will give 42% DA
Central employees will get the gift of DA Hike in March 2023. Because, it will be announced only then. But, it will be implemented from January 2023. In that case the arrears of two months basic is given to the employees. This has been the pattern till now. With the increase of 4%, the dearness allowance will reach 42%. That means there will be a total difference of Rs 720 per month in the basic salary of the employees. This has been calculated on the minimum basic salary of Level-3 18000. At the same time, this difference in the maximum salary range of the same level will be Rs 2276 per month.

DA Hike will be for the half year of July-December 2022

According to the 7th Pay Commission, the dearness allowance of the employees is increased by counting the numbers of AICPI index twice a year. DA is revised by the central government every 6 months. The first review takes place at the beginning of the year i.e. in January. At the same time, the second review is applicable in July. However, this happens on the basis of the numbers of the last half year. DA was increased by 4% in July 2022 based on the data from January to June 2022. At present, dearness allowance is being paid at the rate of 38%.
