it’s called 26/11. it wasn’t just one spot. it was coordinated chaos targeting the city’s heart: the taj and oberoi hotels, chhatrapati shivaji maharaj terminus (csmt), nariman house (the jewish center), the cafe Leopold. they chose those places because they wanted maximum global impact, let’s be real.

The heroes we never forget

the scars are still visible. go to Leopold cafe, you’ll see the bullet marks. the streets of south mumbai still hold the memory.

the biggest hero moment? Tukaram omble, the assistant sub-inspector. he gave up his life to capture the one terrorist who survived, mohammad ajmal amir kasab. that struggle happened. and because of that sacrifice, they got the lone surviving piece of evidence. omble is a legend.

kasab, he was hanged in pune two years after being sentenced to death in may 2010. the other nine let terrorists? they were all killed.

The solemn pledge: neverever

today, the entire nation is focused on the ‘Neverever’ theme. that happened. the ministry of home affairs is organizing a huge memorial at the gateway of india. it’s a solemn pledge to ensure something like this “must never ever recur.”

what draws people there? the dedicated memorial zone. they will display photos and names of the fallen. and they are creating a Living memorial—wax collected from the homage candles will be kept for future observances. it’s a powerful, raw way to keep the memory alive. schools and colleges across mumbai are also taking the ‘neverever’ pledge. it’s an ongoing, collective effort to stay vigilant.

The mastermind update: nia seeks new details

the investigation into the masterminds is still active. the national investigation agency (nia) is not done yet. they recently sought a fresh set of details from the us government regarding Tahawwur rana, the key conspirator who was extradited to india earlier this year. that happened.

rana was described as ‘shrewd’ by the mumbai police during interrogation, sticking to headley’s already revealed confessions and denying his own involvement. but the nia is clearly still digging, raising additional queries through the mutual legal assistance treaty (mlat) process to uncover the full conspiracy. this is a constant, messy fight for justice across borders, or nothing.
