LUCKNOW / AYODHYA — The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has received over 5,500 applications from across the country for the newly created post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). A three-member expert panel is currently scrutinizing the applications, with the final appointment expected around August 15, 2026.
The appointment forms part of a broader administrative restructure aimed at enhancing financial transparency, streamlining devotee services, and managing day-to-day operations at the temple complex.
1. Selection Timeline & Evaluation Process
The expert panel—comprising retired Supreme Court judge Justice Pramod Kohli, retired Lt. Gen. Vishnukant Chaturvedi, and former NIT Raipur chairperson Suresh Haware—has laid out a multi-tiered screening framework:
📋 CEO Selection Workflow:
1. Resume Scrutiny ➔ Initial screening of 5,500+ nationwide applications.
2. Shortlisting ➔ Panel narrows pool and conducts virtual/physical interviews.
3. Recommendation ➔ Panel submits 3 top candidates to the Trust Board.
4. One-on-One Assessment ➔ Trust conducts final interviews and appoints CEO for a 3-year term.
The selection committee is scheduled to visit Ayodhya in early August during the final evaluation phase before submitting its recommendations.

2. Eligibility Criteria & Candidate Requirements
The Trust has specified that candidate evaluation will focus on administrative capability, integrity, and operational management:
| Criteria Category | Official Selection Mandate |
| Citizenship | Must be an Indian citizen (Overseas Indians eligible only if holding Indian passports). |
| Language Skills | Fluency in written and spoken Hindi and English is mandatory. |
| Core Attributes | Proven managerial experience, humility, and administrative competence. |
| Personal Alignment | Faith in Sanatan Dharma and Lord Ram. |
| Gender & Region | Open to all genders and regions across India without geographic preference. |
| Tenure | Initial appointment for a 3-year term. |
3. Trust Restructuring & Board Meetings
Parallel to the CEO selection process, the Trust is moving to regain its full sanctioned strength of 15 trustees. Three vacancies opened up following the death of former Ayodhya royal Vimlendra Mohan Pratap Mishra, along with the resignations of former general secretary Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra.
The Trust Board convened key meetings in Ayodhya to fill these vacancies, reconstitute administrative committees, and review security and cash-counting measures at the temple.
Operational Insight: The newly created CEO position will function independently from government control, overseeing institutional governance, audit processes, and infrastructure projects as temple footfalls continue to scale.
