Bank Holiday October 2022: This time the banks are going to be closed for a total of 21 days in the month of October. There are many big festivals like Dussehra, Diwali, Chhath, Bhai Dooj in October, due to which the list of Banking Holiday in October is very long. The first holiday in October will be on October 2.

New Delhi: Bank Holiday October 2022: RBI has released the list of Banking Holiday falling in October 2022. This time the banks are going to be closed for a total of 21 days in the month of October. At present, almost all the work related to the bank is done digitally or online only through mobile.

But still there are some tasks like check clearance, offline KYC, account closure, account transfer, for which you have to go to the bank. In such a situation, it becomes necessary for us to stay updated with the list of banking holidays. So that we do not have to face any kind of trouble related to our such banking work.

List of bank holidays in October

There are many big festivals like Dussehra, Diwali, Chhath, Bhai Dooj in October, due to which the list of Banking Holiday in October is very long. The first holiday in October will be on October 2. On October 2, there will be a holiday in banks across the country due to Gandhi Jayanti and the first Sunday of the month. Banks in Agartala, Bhubaneshwar, Guwahati, Imphal, Kolkata, Patna and Ranchi zones will remain closed on the 3rd of Durga Puja or Maha Ashtami.

These days will also be a holiday

On 4th and 5th there are festivals like Durga Puja / Dussehra (Maha Navami) / Ayudha Puja / Birthday of Shrimant Sankardev Durga Puja / Dussehra (Vijay Dashami) / Birthday of Shrimant Sankardev. Banks in Agartala, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Gangtok, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Patna, Ranchi, Shillong and Thiruvananthapuram zones will remain closed on 4th. Except Imphal on 5th, there will be a holiday in the banks of all other zones.

Banks of Gangtok zone will remain closed on the occasion of Durga Puja (Dasai) festival on 6th and 7th. Banks in Bhopal, Jammu, Kochi, Srinagar and Thiruvananthapuram zones will remain closed on 8th on the occasion of Milad-e-Sharif/Eid-e-Milad-ul-Nabi (Birthday of Prophet Muhammad). On the 13th, Karva Chauth, the banks of Shimla will be closed on that day. On the occasion of Eid-e-Milad-ul-Nabij on 14th, there will be a holiday in the banks of Jammu and Shimla zone. On the occasion of Kathi Bihu on 18th, the banks of Guwahati Zone will remain closed.

Banks here will remain closed on Diwali

On the occasion of Kali Puja / Deepawali / Diwali (Lakshmi Pujan) / Narak Chaturdashi on 24th, there will be a holiday in banks across the country except Gangtok, Hyderabad and Imphal. Banks in Gangtok, Hyderabad, Imphal and Jammu Zone will remain closed on the occasion of Lakshmi Puja/Deepawali/Govardhan Puja on 25th.

Ahmedabad, Bolapur, Bangalore, Dohradun, Gangtok, Jammu, Kanpur, Lucknow, Mumbai, Banks in Nagpur, Shimla and Srinagar zones will remain closed.

Banks of Gangtok, Imphal, Kanpur and Lucknow zones will remain closed on 27th on the occasion of Bhaidooj/Chitragupta Jayanti/Lakshmi Puja/Deepawali/Ningol Chakkuba. On 31st, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birthday / Surya Pashti Dala Chhath (early morning) / Chhath Puja will be a holiday in the banks of Ahmedabad, Patna and Ranchi zones. Along with this, banks across the country will remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays as well.
