The employees have become furious against this decision of the state government. However, in the matter, Agriculture Minister of the state’s Parliamentary Affairs Shomandev Chattopadhyay said that the employees should remain calm. Mamata Banerjee never said that the outstanding DA will not be paid to the state government employees. However, the payment has to be made on time.

On the other hand, on the petition challenging the order of the Kolkata High Court on dearness allowance of state government employees in the Supreme Court, the opposition has also started the work of besieging the Mamta government. Leader of Opposition Shubhendu Adhikari has termed Mamata Banerjee’s government as a beggar’s government.

A division bench of the Kolkata High Court comprising Justices Harish Tandon and Ravindra Nath Samant had on September 22 dismissed a review petition of the Mamata government. In this review petition, a review of that decision of May 20 was requested. In which instructions were given to pay dearness allowance to the employees of the state.

Apart from this, the bench had also fixed November 9 as the date of hearing of the contempt petition filed by the employees’ union to the state government. In which it was alleged that the authorities have not approved the payment within 3 months in May 2022.

Earlier, the High Court had directed the state government to clear the dues of the employees by August 19. At the same time, the state government submitted an affidavit in the Kolkata High Court. In which it was said that as per the direction of the court, the state may face financial calamity in paying the dues now.

Once the petition is filed in the Supreme Court, once again the employees may have to wait a long time for the payment of their DA dues. Let the West Bengal government not pay their arrears of dearness allowance to the employees. Due to which the employee is very upset.
