The Railway Department has announced a hike in Dearness Allowance. After taking approval from the government, the Railway Board has announced an increase in the DA of the employees of the Sixth Pay Commission. This hike has come into effect from 1 July 2021 and 1 January 2022.

Railway Board has increased dearness allowance twice. It says that the dearness allowance of the employees who are working under the Sixth Pay Commission has been increased from 1 July 2021 and 1 January 2022.

The Dearness Allowance of employees who are taking salary under the Sixth Pay Commission has been increased by 7 percent with effect from July 1, 2021. That is, now it has increased from 189 percent to 196 percent.

Along with this, the Railway Board has again increased the dearness allowance by 7 percent from January 1, 2022. With this it has increased from 196 percent to 203 percent. Railway employees will get double benefit from this decision of Railway Board. The Railway Board has implemented this decision after taking approval from the Finance Directorate and the Ministry of Railways.

Dearness Allowance of Central Employees

Let us inform that in March, the government had announced an increase of 3 percent in the dearness allowance of central employees. These are lakhs of employees who are getting salary under 7th pay commission. At present, the dearness allowance of these employees is 34 percent. His basic salary is 18 thousand rupees. Implementing the recommendation of the 7th Pay Commission, the government increased the basic minimum salary from Rs 7000 to Rs 18000 per month.
