West Bengal government employees are demanding

In fact, the joint forum of state government employees in West Bengal has postponed the date of the proposed strike for one day for the demand of pending dearness allowance. On Wednesday morning, the United Forum said that the strike in all state government offices across the state would be held on March 9, in the evening, they made a fresh announcement that the strike date has been extended by one day to March 10.

The spokesperson of the United Forum said that the decision to postpone the strike date has been taken keeping in mind that the examination will be conducted by the West Bengal Madrassa Education Board (WBBME) on March 9.

Day of strike changed in view of examination

He said, we do not want any inconvenience to the examinees due to our strike. That is why we have decided to call the strike on such a date when there will be no exam. We need a massive support of the people in our movement, which we are already getting. That is why we have decided to keep all emergency services out of the purview of the strike.

Strike on Monday and Tuesday

The Joint Forum has already witnessed a two-day pen-down strike in state government offices on Monday and Tuesday, where the employees reported to their respective offices and marked their presence but refrained from performing their regular duties, resulting in As a result the normal functioning was affected.

However, on March 10, the employees will neither report for duty nor mark their attendance, but protest in front of various state government offices across the district.
