Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot said the government will provide a subsidy of Rs 5,500 for the first 10,000 buyers of e-cycles in the city.

An additional subsidy of Rs 2,000 will also be given to the first 1,000 buyers of passenger e-cycles.

At the same time, subsidy will also be provided on the purchase of heavy duty cargo e-cycles and e-carts for commercial use. The subsidy on Cargo E-cycle will be ₹15,000 each for the first 5,000 buyers.

Corporate firms will also get subsidy The

minister said that earlier subsidy was provided to individual buyers of e-carts, now the company or corporate houses who buy these vehicles will also be given a subsidy of Rs 30,000. However, under the Delhi EV policy, only Delhi residents will be able to take advantage of this subsidy scheme.

E-cycles will become affordable

This move of the government will attract more people towards electric bicycles and cycles will become cheaper. On this decision of the government, Hero Lectro CEO Aditya Munjal said, “The subsidy will boost economic activity and create new sources of income. Warmly welcome.’
