Delhi Metro viral News: The spirits of thieves are high in the capital of the country, Delhi. This can only be gauged from the fact that in the last 18 months, the Delhi Police has registered 80 cases of theft of Metro cables. Due to this, Metro services have been disrupted and the movement has slowed down. According to the police, in the year 2021, 50 cases of theft of metro cables were registered. Out of this, 30 cases were settled and 20 people were arrested.

Till June 30 this year, 30 cases were registered and 30 people were arrested. Officials said that we have come to know from the inquiry that thieves used to enter the metro premises by jumping from trees or breaking the wall to carry out the incident. Police said that these thieves used to be in groups of 7 to 8 people and used to target places where there was a little deserted.

Officials also told that the thieves were of single body, who used to enter the metro premises even from less space. Apart from this, these thieves used to cut cables using iron blades and tied the wires with wood, so that they would not get electrocuted.

Many times these thieves used to hide the cables in the forest. Later when he got a chance, he used to take it away. These thieves were mostly active when the metro services were stopped. This time was only at night. Police say that the cable thieves used to take it, its price in the gray market was very high. This was because the wire used to make this cable is very expensive. In April, 3 people were arrested in this case. The cable that was found from him was worth around Rs 20 lakh.

According to officials, these incidents of cable theft have sometimes disrupted metro services for a few hours or sometimes for the entire day. Earlier this month, services on Delhi’s Blue Line were also disrupted.
