Government Employees Promotion: There is good news for government employees. Two thousand more government employees will be promoted by the end of the year. Union Minister Jitendra Singh has given this information. He informed on Monday that around 2,000 promotions to Assistant Section Officer (ASO) and other grades are under process and the process is likely to be completed by the end of this year. He mentioned this during a meeting with a delegation of Central Secretariat employees.

2000 employees will get promotion by the end of the year

In fact, on Monday, a delegation of Central Secretariat employees, including personnel from the platform of Central Secretariat Service (CSS) and direct recruitment of Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE), met Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh. During this, the minister informed that last year alone around 9,000 promotions were done on a large scale and before that DoPT had given 4,000 promotions in the last three years. The government led by PM Narendra Modi is giving promotions on a large scale to motivate the employees and to overcome the problem of long stagnation in service. Another 2,000 promotions to Assistant Section Officers (ASOs) and other grades are in process and it is likely that they too will be promoted by the end of this year”.

The issue has been discussed with all the senior officers of the department and several innovative measures have been evolved to avoid deadlock at middle and lower level of administration.

4000 promotions in 3 years

Dr Jitendra Singh regretted that in a large number of such cases, promotions were held up due to unfair decisions taken by previous governments, resulting in litigation or twisting of rules to give out-of-turn promotions. In some of the 4,000 promotions approved in recent years, the government, after consulting legal experts and making valid provisions for judicial scrutiny, has given promotions even when such cases are sub judice.
