Honorarium will be paid on 10th

Monthly honorarium of ASHA workers and employees in Karnataka will be paid on 10th. Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao directed that the monthly honorarium of the Accredited Social Health Activists be deposited in their bank account within 10th of the next month. In this way delay in payment can be avoided.

Minister’s instructions

The direction has been given after ASHA workers protested against the delay in honorarium payment. Rao reviewed the program under the National Health Mission in the meeting on Friday. During this, it was said that the maternal and child health program should be specially strengthened. This includes ensuring adequate nutrition for mother and child, early detection and treatment of malnutrition, and screening such as immunization and ensuring safe delivery.

Office system file tracking will become easy

The issue of digitization of the district level program of the health department was also raised in the meeting. Presently the Head Office Arogya Souda has been digitized. According to a source in the state health department, the office system can make file tracking easier in the office.

Biometric attendance has been made mandatory for all employees. Expediting the registration of private health facilities under the Karnataka Private Medical Establishment Act and speedy redressal of patients’ complaints have also been discussed. Along with this, the minister has given instructions that medical negligence will not be tolerated at all.
