Old Pension Scheme: Seeing the increasing demand for the old pension scheme in the state, now the positive statement of the Chief Minister has come to the fore. The Chief Minister said that a meeting will be held with the department’s committee on old pension scheme and all other matters will be discussed.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said at a rally in Kokan on Friday that we will hold a meeting with the education department’s committee on the old pension scheme and find out through the media. Eknath Shinde said that technical legislation and financial issue along with the old pension scheme will be considered in the meeting with the committee. Along with this, he said that any decision should be for a long time and should be in the interest of both the teacher and the state. Preparation will be done for this.
Additional financial burden of Rs 1.1 lakh crore will increase
Earlier, during the winter session of the state legislature in December 2022, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had said that the question of reverting to the old pension does not arise as it would put an additional financial burden of Rs 1.1 lakh crore on the state exchequer. Now gradually the police had changed its stand during the campaign for the Legislative Council elections. He had said that the government is not negative about the old pension scheme but any decision should be for the future. Earlier last month, CM Eknath Shinde had said that the government may consider implementing the old pension. And now the Chief Minister says that he will find a positive middle way and study the legal and financial aspects in a positive way regarding the teachers’ demand for the old pension scheme.
