There is good news for employee pensioners. Dearness allowance-Dearness relief has been increased once again. Its orders have been issued. Under the issued order, pensioners in 6 categories will be given the benefit of dearness allowance and dearness relief. His dearness allowance has been increased to 41 per cent. And from February 2023 to July 2023, he will be paid pension at this rate.
Employees-Pensioners DA Hike: There is big news for the retired employees-pensioners of the country. In fact, dearness relief for employee pensioners has been increased again. DA DR enhancement orders have been issued. Thousands of bank employee pensioners will get its benefit.
In fact, the All India Average Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers for the quarter ending December 2022 has been confirmed. Under this, 8710.36 in October 2022, 8700 10.36 in November 2022 while the Consumer Price Index in December 2022 is 8697.22. Accordingly, as per Regulation 37 of the Bank Employees’ Pension Regulations, 1995, dearness relief will be provided to the employee pensioners at the rates specified in Appendix 2 of the Regulation.
For this, Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief have been divided into 6 categories by IBA. Accordingly, dearness relief is to be provided to the employee pensioners.

Pending amendment in pension regulations, banks may make payments on an ad hoc basis, dearness relief payable to pensioners for the period February 2023 to July 2023 will be as per Annexure. According to this
DR for pensioners retired on or after 1st January, 1986 but before 1st November, 1992/1st July, 1993
- Upto Rs.1250 – Rs.1357. 42% will be payable.
- Rs.1251 to Rs.2000 Upto – 16967.75 + 1250.00 plus 114.30 percent of the basic pension will be payable.
- From Rs.2001 to Rs.2130- Rs.25325.00 + 668.58 percent of basic pension will be payable over and above Rs.2000.00.
- Above Rs.2130 – 26194.15 + 344.42 percent of basic pension above Rs.2130.00 will be payable.
DR to pensioners who retired on or after 1st November, 1992/1st July, 1993
- Up to Rs 2400 – 661.15 percent will be payable.
- From Rs.2401 to Rs.3850 – 15867.60 + 547.81 percent of basic pension above Rs.2400.00 will be payable.
- From Rs.3851 to Rs.4100 – 15867.60 + 547.81 percent of basic pension above Rs.3850.00 will be payable.
- Above Rs.4100- 24613.66 + 170.01 percent of basic pension above Rs.4100.00 will be payable
DR to pensioners who retired on or after 1st April, 1998
- Up to Rs.3550 – 421.2 percent will be payable.
- From Rs.3551 to Rs.5650 – 14952.60 + 351.00 percent of basic pension above Rs.3550.00 will be payable.
- Rs.5651 to Rs.6010 Upto- 22323.60 + Rs.5650.00 plus 210.6 percent of the basic pension will be payable.
- Above Rs.6010 – 23081.76 + 105.3 percent of basic pension above Rs.6010.00 will be payable.
DR to pensioners who retired on or after 1st November, 2002
- From January 2023 to July 2023, the rate of dearness relief on pension will be payable at 288.72 percent of the basic pension.
DR to pensioners who retired on or after 1st November, 2007
- From February 2023 to July 2023, the rate of dearness relief on pension will be payable at 220.05% of the basic pension.
DR to pensioners who retired on or after 1st November, 2012
- In the month of February 2023 to July 2023, the rate of dearness relief on pension will be payable at 106.60% of the basic pension.
DR to pensioners who retired on or after 1st November, 2017
- From February 2023 to July 2023, the rate of dearness relief on pension will be 41.16% of the basic pension.
