Pension News: Before the new year, the Haryana government has taken another big decision. After cancer victims, now patients suffering from rare diseases including Duchenne muscular dystrophy will also be given a pension of Rs 2500 per month, the health department of the state is working on this subject. This was announced by the state health minister Anil Vij. He said that DMD is a genetic disease and its treatment is expensive.
Actually, Haryana’s Health and Family Welfare Minister Anil Vij has given this information in response to the question of BJP MLA Aseem Goyal during the question hour on the second day of the winter session of the Vidhansabha. He informed that patients suffering from rare diseases including Duchenne muscular dystrophy would be given a pension of Rs 2500 per month. Under the National Policy for Rare Diseases 2021, financial assistance of up to Rs 50 lakh is being provided for treatment in centers of excellence for patients suffering from rare diseases including Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
Tell that recently the Manohar Lal Khattar government of Haryana has decided to start a monthly pension of Rs 2500 for stage-3 and 4 cancer victims. This scheme will start in the new year and a separate provision of Rs 68 crore 42 lakh will be made in the budget for the scheme. This will help thousands of cancer victims of the state. Its benefit will be given to those patients whose annual family income is up to Rs 3 lakh. The pension of these pensioners will be sent directly to their bank accounts through the Public Financial Management System (PFMS).

Apart from Haryana, there are a large number of its patients in parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. State governments of states like Himachal Pradesh, Bihar and Rajasthan provide financial assistance to patients suffering from this disease.
