The date for linking Aadhaar-UAN has been extended till November 30. Along with this, EMPLOYEES’ PROVIDENT FUND ORGANISATION (EPFO) has also appointed an officer for the ease of the people.
This will make it easier for people to link Aadhaar-UAN. If Aadhaar-UAN linking is not done before December 1, then you may also suffer a big loss. If the employee’s PF account (UAN) is not linked with Aadhaar, then his contribution will not be able to be deposited. Along with this, you will not be able to withdraw money from the PF account.
No use of EDLI
According to personal finance expert and CA Manish Kumar Gupta, Aadhaar-UAN linking is also necessary for insurance reasons. Because in the absence of the link, the Employee Deposit Linked Insurance (EDLI) of the employee will also not be able to be deposited. This will exclude that employee from the insurance cover.
What is EDLI
The Labor Ministry has increased the amount of Death Insurance Benefit during Covid. Now the limit of sum insured under the EDLI Scheme, 1976 has increased to Rs.7 lakh. Earlier this amount was minimum Rs 2 lakh and Rs 6 lakh. This insurance cover is available when the PF account holder dies untimely.
