Google is now going to shut down the old Google app. The ‘GPay’ app visible on the Android homescreen is the old version which is used for payments and finance. However, the company has taken this decision for America.
Google Pay App, the app used for online transactions, is the first choice of people today. It is used extensively in India, Singapore and America etc. But now the company has taken a big decision regarding this app. Google is now going to shut down the old Google app. The ‘GPay’ app visible on the Android homescreen is the old version which is used for payments and finance. However, the people of India do not need to worry about this because the company has taken this decision for America.

According to the report, GPay will stop working in America from June 4, 2024. However, people using GPay in India and Singapore need not worry as it will continue to work normally at both the places. The company has given this information through a blog that to simplify the experience of Google Pay App, the American version of the standalone Google Pay App will not be able to be used from June 4. It will be discontinued in America, but the same services will continue in India and Singapore.
Peer-to-Peer payments closed
If the app is going to be closed, Google has also stopped peer-to-peer payments. It has been told in the blog that after the closure of Google Pay app in America, American users will no longer be able to send or receive money to other people through the app. Google Pay users in America have been advised by the company to shift to Google Wallet app. Google says that it will continue to provide updates to its users from time to time.
