The last financial year has proved to be of some relief for the Delhi Government, which is facing economic crisis due to Corona virus. Delhi, which is facing the brunt of revenue deficit, has earned good revenue from GST (GST Collections) and VAT (VAT) in the last year 2021-22, which has been quite relaxing as compared to the last two years.

In the financial year ended March 31, the Delhi government has got revenue of 28,573 crores from GST and VAT alone, which will be a big help in bringing back the schemes which were in trouble due to Corona.

Let us inform that in the financial year 2021-22, a revenue collection of 28,573 crores has been made from GST and VAT. This includes VAT of 5,250 crore and GST of 23,327 crore. This is about 35 percent more than in 2020-21.

In the financial year 2020-21, the government got revenue of only 18,572 crores in both these items. This year, the Delhi government had to face a big brunt of corona infection, due to which there was a huge drop in revenue collection. At the same time, in 2019-20, the government had received revenue of 25,715 crores in the form of GST and VAT recovery.

But this time the government is also very excited due to a significant increase in revenue and is trying to speed up the pending scheme due to lack of revenue this year. The good thing is that in the last financial year, the Delhi Government has also received a share of Rs 12,637 crore from the Central Government as compensation.

Due to this, it has been estimated at Rs 41,216 crore. At the same time, the government expects that the revenue collection in the current financial year 2022-23 will be more than the previous year.

Meanwhile, if we talk about the month of January of the financial year 2021-22 ended on March 31, then the total revenue came to 3,338 crores, which included 378 crores VAT and 2,960 crores GST (GST).

At the same time, in the next month February, a total of 1,323 crore revenue came in which 273 crore was of VAT and 1,056 crore was of GST. At the same time, in the last month of March, the total revenue came to 3,100 crores.

In this revenue, 490 crores has been recovered as VAT and 2,610 crores as GST. This time the government is preparing to give a big jump to its revenue in the current financial year. For this, the government has also constituted a team of officers of the Sales and Tax Department, which will work to curb all the irregularities and fraudsters.
