GST collection has increased to Rs 1.68 lakh crore in April. This is the first time after the implementation of GST that the figure of GST has crossed 1.50 lakh crores on a monthly basis.

GST collection of 1.42 lakh crore in March

This figure was released by the Finance Ministry on Sunday. In April, 2022, 1.06 crore GST returns were filed in GSTR-3B. Earlier in March, the GST collection was Rs 1.42 lakh crore. That is, there has been more GST collection of 26 thousand crores in April as compared to March. This is considered a good sign for the economy in the coming times.

CGST share Rs 33,159 crore

Last year in the same period (April 2021), the GST collection was Rs 1.40 lakh crore. In the information given by the Finance Ministry, it was told that the GST collection stood at Rs 1,67,540 crore. In this, the share of CGST was Rs 33,159 crore, the share of SGST was Rs 41,793 crore. Whereas IGST stood at Rs 81,939 crore.

According to the Finance Ministry, there are clear indications that the level of compliance has improved. The tax administration has taken many measures in this regard, which are yielding positive results. The department has also facilitated tax compliance by motivating the taxpayers to file their returns on time.
