Holiday in Delhi-NCR on Jan 22: Schools, Liquor Shops in Noida, Greater Noida, Gurugram to Stay Shut

22 January 2024 Holiday In Delhi-Ncr: Across nation people are filled with joy to celebrate the opening of Ram Temple. However, the national capital has not declared public holiday for 22 January. All schools, offices, shops are expected to function normally in Delhi on Monday.

New Delhi: A holiday has been declared for schools and colleges in NCR cities of Gurugram, Noida and Greater Noida on January 22. Delhiites, however, are still wondering if the much-awaited pran pratishta ceremony of Ayodhya Ram Mandir on January 22 will be observed as a holiday. No such announcemnet has been made yet, however, as per a media report an advocate has written a letter to the President of India urging her to declare January 22 as a National Holiday.

January 22 will also be observed as a ‘dry day’ in Noida, Greater Noida and Gurugram. All types of shops including liquor, and Bhang outlets will remain closed.

States Which Have Declared Public Holiday

  • Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana has decided 22 January as a public holiday. Reportedly, all the institution, offices, schools are closed in these states.
    Holiday In Noida?
  • Educational institutions in Uttar Pradesh will be closed on January 22 in light of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony for the Ram Temple, as per the directive of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, as reported by news agency ANI. Furthermore, liquor shops across the state will also observe closure on the same day.

Holiday In Gurugram?

  • For the Ram Temple Inauguration, the Haryana government has declared the closure of schools on January 22. Additionally, the consumption of liquor will be prohibited throughout the state on the day of the consecration ceremony.
