IMD Alert: The weather of the country continues to change. The pressure area in the Bay of Bengal turned into a depression. However, due to the weakening of the depression, forecast of moderate rain has been issued in 10 states. According to the Meteorological Department, by the evening of December 18, the low pressure area will completely weaken.

However, till November 18, forecast of heavy rain has been issued in 10 states. Apart from this, a cold wave alert has been issued in North India. Yellow alert has been issued for cold wave in some parts of New Delhi including UP Bihar and in Himachal, Uttarakhand.

State of depression
In fact, the wind is blowing at a speed of 50 to 60 kmph to 70 to 80 kmph in the East Central Arabian Sea. Along with this, the speed of this wind will gradually decrease. The wind speed will reduce to 65 kmph. By the morning of December 18, the wind speed will be 55 kilometers per hour.

Weather system

  • The Low Pressure Area (LPA) south of Nicobar Islands will cause heavy rain over the region for a few days.
  • This LPA will gradually move westwards and affect the east coast of Tamil Nadu early next week.
  • Cold wave conditions are likely to prevail in some parts of North India on Friday and Saturday.
  • Minimum temperatures will be near normal over North India, Central India and East India and above normal over other regions.
  • The effect of Western Disturbance is visible in the hilly states. Traffic is being disrupted due to continuous snowfall and rain for several days. Also Gilgit Baltistan. Along with Muzaffarabad, Himachal and Uttarakhand were also forecasted to rain with snowfall.

Cold wave forecast

On one hand, the effect of cold has started appearing in the capital Delhi. Fog and mist are visible in the morning and evening. Apart from this, the atmosphere is getting colder at night. On the other hand, the forecast of cold wave has been expressed till the end of December. Delhiites, however, will have to wait for the end of December and January for the bitter cold.

Alert regarding cold wave in Uttarakhand

The fall in temperature has started. Chhattisgarh is going to get severe cold in next 2-3 days. The minimum temperature can drop down to 4 degree Celsius. Cold wave forecast has been issued in Himachal and Rajasthan till December 19.

Rain forecast issued for Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur today. Along with this, the intensity of fog will increase in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram.
