IMD Alert/Weather Update Today: Due to the cyclonic storm and the weather system formed at different places, light to moderate rains are expected at most places in the north-east and adjoining eastern parts of the country during the next seven days, during which thunderstorms There is also a possibility of walking and lightning.

According to weather forecast agency Skymet, Sikkim, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, South Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh are likely to receive light to moderate rain with heavy rain at a few places. Light to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells are possible over East Bihar, Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep. Apart from this, light to moderate rains are also likely over Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Konkan and Goa. Rain activities can be recorded over West Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Maharashtra and Vidarbha.
Fast progressing monsoon
According to IMD, Monsoon has advanced into some parts of Telangana, most parts of Andhra Pradesh, some parts of Odisha, some parts of west-central-northwest Bay of Bengal, some parts of Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar Therefore, further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of South Peninsular India, remaining parts of Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar and parts of Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh during next two-three days Conditions are favorable for further advancement. Monsoon may advance further into remaining parts of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Jharkhand in next 2 to 3 days.

- According to the IMD, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Bihar on June 23, Gangetic West Bengal on June 25 and Odisha during June 22-26.
- Rainfall is very likely to increase over East India from June 27 with heavy to very heavy falls over Odisha, South Jharkhand and adjoining areas of Gangetic West Bengal during June 27-28.
- Light to moderate rain is expected over Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, North Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Telangana in the coming two days.
- Light rain may occur over Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan & Goa, Delhi and Northeast Rajasthan.
- Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning very likely at isolated places over West Rajasthan during June 27-28.
- Heavy rain warning has been issued in six districts of Uttarakhand today. Monsoon is likely to reach the state in the next three days. Red alert has been issued in six districts including Dehradun and Nainital due to heavy rains.
- Light to moderate rain with isolated thunder and lightning very likely over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh from June 23 to 28 and over plains of Northwest India except West Rajasthan from June 25.
- Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh may receive good rains on June 25 and 26. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely over Northeast states, West Bengal, Sikkim during next two days.
