IMD Alert: Light rain is expected in Lucknow and adjoining districts on Monday and moderate from Tuesday. Meanwhile, thunder and lightning is expected in around 40 districts.

Weather Alert Today: Monsoon has become active in UP, whose effect will remain till July 28, due to which more effect will be seen in Western UP. UP Meteorological Department: Sporadic rain is expected in many districts of UP including 15 districts of western Uttar Pradesh from Monday. It will rain in the state for the next week. Light rain is expected in Lucknow and adjoining districts on Monday and moderate from Tuesday. Meanwhile, thunder and lightning is expected in around 40 districts.

According to the UP Meteorological Department, the area of low pressure in the air is currently towards the Bay of Bengal. Due to its effect, light rain may occur in some districts adjoining western UP and Uttarakhand from Monday. On the other hand, there are chances of scattered rains in Terai belt and adjoining districts of Madhya Pradesh. A warning has been issued for lightning accompanied by strong wind in many districts. There is a possibility of continuous rains till July 29. At the same time, due to heavy rains in many districts, an alert will also be issued. However, there is no expectation of very heavy rain anywhere during this period.

Know the condition of the whole week

  • On July 24, it may rain with thunder and lightning at many places in western and eastern UP. An alert has also been issued for heavy rains in many districts on Tuesday.
  • There is a possibility of rain and thundershowers at almost all places in western UP and at many places in eastern UP from 25 to 28 July. On Tuesday, there is an alert regarding lightning and heavy rain at one or two places in both the parts.
  • On July 25, 26 and 27, rain and thundershowers are expected at almost all places. On July 25 also, there is an alert of heavy rain at one or two places in both the parts. There are chances of rain and thundershowers at many places in western and eastern UP.

Yellow alert for rain in these districts today

  • From 8:30 am on July 24 to 8:30 am on July 25, there are indications of heavy rains in Bahraich, Bijnor, Lakhimpur Kheri, Muzaffarnagar and Pilibhit.
  • The possibility of heavy rain has also been expressed in the surrounding areas of Saharanpur, Shahjahanpur, Shamli, Sitapur and Shravasti.
  • Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning is likely in Aligarh, Amroha, Badaun, Baghpat, Bahraich, Balrampur and Barabanki.
  • On July 24, heavy rains are expected in parts of western UP, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabirnagar, Basti, Ayodhya, Gonda, Barabanki, Lucknow, Sitapur and Hardoi. It may also rain in Shahjahanpur, Farrukhabad, Etah, Kasganj, Badayun, Hathras, Mathura, Aligarh, Sambhal, Bulandshahr, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Amroha, Hapur.
  • Light rain is forecast in Ghaziabad, Meerut, Baghpat, Lalitpur, Jhansi, Mahoba, Banda, Chitrakoot, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra.
  • On Tuesday, a warning has been issued for heavy rains in about 10 districts including Bareilly, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich, Pilibhit adjoining Uttarakhand.

Change in temperature

  • The minimum temperature of all the districts of Uttar Pradesh is forecast to be between 28 degree Celsius to 30 degree Celsius.
  • In the capital Lucknow, the maximum temperature is expected to be 34 degree Celsius on Monday while the minimum temperature is expected to be 27 degree Celsius.
  • Barabanki, Hardoi, Kanpur, Etawah, Lakhimpur Kheri, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Ballia, Bahraich, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Banda, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Fursatganj, Gorakhpur, Fatehgarh, Basti, Jhansi and Hamirpur are expected to have maximum temperatures between 30 and 35 degrees Celsius.
  • The maximum temperature in Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Agra, Aligarh and Bulandshahr is expected to be in the range of 31°C to 34°C.
    In districts like Ghaziabad and Noida, the maximum temperature is expected to be between 30 and 36 degree Celsius. The maximum temperature in Mathura and Chitrakoot may remain between 30°C to 35°C.
