Light to moderate rains with isolated heavy falls are very likely over Northeast India, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland during next 24 hours.

Scattered snowfall is likely over Sikkim and higher reaches of Arunachal Pradesh, while light rain is likely over parts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh, South Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Coastal Odisha, Western Himalayas and Punjab.

IMD Alert Today: Changes are being seen in the weather across the country due to the effect of Western Disturbance. Today again a new Western Disturbance is reaching the Himalayan region, due to which the process of rain and thunderstorm may continue for the next few days.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain and hailstorm in many states from 3 to 5 April. Light to moderate rains may occur over parts of Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. Rain activities may increase over the Western Himalayas on 3rd and 4th April. Temperatures are likely to increase over Northwest, Central and East India during next 2 to 3 days.

According to weather forecast agency Skymet, light to moderate rain and heavy rain at a few places are likely over Northeast India, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland during the next 24 hours. Scattered snowfall likely over Sikkim and higher reaches of Arunachal Pradesh.

Light rain likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, South Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Coastal Odisha, West Himalayas and parts of Punjab. Northwest Rajasthan over Punjab and Haryana Scattered light to moderate rain with isolated hailstorm may occur over parts.

What does the Meteorological Department say

According to weather forecast agency Skymet, the Western Disturbance has weakened over Jammu and Kashmir, but a cyclonic circulation persists over Northeast Rajasthan and adjoining parts of Haryana, while another cyclonic circulation persists over Southeast Uttar Pradesh. And it is built on adjacent Madhya Pradesh. The same north south trough is extending from south Odisha to north interior Tamil Nadu across Andhra Pradesh at lower levels.

Know the condition of the states

  1. There is a possibility of light rain, snowfall and hailstorm at some places in Uttarakhand today. Light to moderate rain is expected in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts on Monday and Tuesday . There are chances of snowfall at places with a height of 3000. There is also a possibility of lightning and hailstorm along with thunder at some places. The maximum and minimum temperatures may increase by up to 3 degrees. The temperature is expected to be 28°C and 14°C. There is a possibility of rain and thundershowers in Dehradun on April 3-4, but rain is expected to be respite from April 05.
  2. Jharkhand Weather will remain dry for the next two days. Whereas on April 5 and 6, it may rain in the southern and central parts of the state. The weather will remain dry from April 7. In Himachal Pradesh, an alert has been issued for snowfall and rain on April 3-4. The weather is expected to remain bad across the state till April 6. He has also appealed to the people to take precautions during this period.

In Punjab , the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert in 15 districts of Barnala, Mansa, Sangrur, Malerkotla, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Mohali, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar, Patiala, Moga, Bathinda and Ludhiana. There is a possibility of strong winds blowing at a speed of 30 to 40 km. Along with this, the Meteorological Department has also predicted rain and hailstorm. Yellow alert has been issued in the rest of the districts of Punjab.
  4. It will be cloudy throughout the day in Delhi-NCR on Monday, there are chances of light rain with strong wind. Due to the effect of a new Western Disturbance, it may rain in Delhi NCR as well as in many other parts of North India. The minimum temperature in the capital can be 16 degrees, while the maximum temperature can remain up to 32 degrees. At the same time, there will be light rain in Delhi on Tuesday and it will be cloudy. On April 4 also, light rain or drizzle can be seen in Delhi.
  5. According to the MP Meteorological Department, on April 5 and 6, it will be cloudy and rain with strong wind. Due to this, the temperature will remain around 40 degrees. There is a possibility of light rain in Bhopal on 4th April. Whereas, it will be cloudy in Indore, Gwalior, Narmadapuram, Rewa, Chambal, Ujjain divisions. There is a possibility of another Western Disturbance on 8th April. Its effect can be seen in Gwalior-Chambal division on April 10. There are less chances of heat wave in the state till April 20, till the end of April the effect of heat can be seen.

According to the UP Meteorological Department, the weather is likely to remain dry in East Uttar Pradesh on April 3 and there is a possibility of rain and thundershowers at many places in West Uttar Pradesh. On Monday, the maximum temperature in Lucknow will be between 33 degree Celsius. The minimum temperature is expected to be 20 degrees. The wind speed is forecast to reach 17 kmph. The weather will remain clear throughout the day on Monday, however, the western parts of the state will witness a cloudy day with chances of rain at a few places.
  7. Light to moderate rains may occur over isolated parts of Northwest India like Rajasthan, Punjab and West Uttar Pradesh on April 3-4. Hailstorm may occur in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana on 3 April. During this, there will be strong winds with thunder and lightning. Till April 5 in Northeast India, there will be rain with thunderstorms and thunderstorms in most areas. Similar weather conditions are expected over Northeast along with West Bengal and Sikkim till April 5.
  8. According to the Rajasthan Meteorological Department, a new Western Disturbance is going to be active on Monday, due to which there is a possibility of light rain and strong winds along with thunderstorms in Jodhpur, Bikaner division and Shekhawati region. In the districts of Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Bikaner and Sikar in the northern parts of Rajasthan, there is a possibility of rain and hailstorm with lightning. Apart from this, a warning has been issued for strong winds in the districts of the state.
