Indian Railway Premium Tatkal Ticket New Update: Indian Railways takes many decisions from time to time for its passengers. In this episode, Railways is considering to introduce premium Tatkal scheme in all trains in future. Actually, Railways reserves some seats under the premium Tatkal scheme. Passengers have to pay some extra amount to book these tickets. In such a situation, if this service starts in all trains, then lakhs of railway passengers may be affected.

According to news agency PTI, at present the option of premium tatkal booking is available for about 80 trains. The move to introduce quota in all trains will help the Railways to earn more revenue, which will help it to balance the burden on Railways due to fare concessions.

These rules can also be changed.

In the year 2020-21, Railways has earned more than Rs 500 crore from Tatkal and Premium Tatkal booking. Was withdrawn in 2020 amid the -19 pandemic.

However, the senior citizen subsidy may come back with changes in the criteria, which include raising the eligible age from 58 years to 70 years for women and 60 years for women. Further, sources told the news agency that the senior citizen concession is likely to be restored only for the general and sleeper class tickets for non-AC classes
