Omicron variant: In view of the fear of Corona’s new variant Omicron, the Railways has also geared up. Apart from training the employees, some new rules are being implemented.

Omicron Coronavirus Indian Railway: In view of the new variant Omicron of Kovid-19, East Central Railway is taking several precautionary steps. Experienced doctors, nurses and paramedical staff will be stationed 24 hours a day in railway hospitals to deal with any emergency. In order to provide medical facilities to the patients of Kovid-19, the medical staff in the railway hospitals are also being specially trained by updating them with the latest information related to the new variant.

In order to protect against Kovid-19, several steps were taken by East Central Railway to get its employees vaccinated against Kovid. As a result, out of about 80 thousand railway workers of East Central Railway, more than 72 thousand railway workers have been vaccinated. That is, about 90 percent of the employees have been given both doses of the vaccine.

At the same time, the remaining 10 percent of the employees who have not been able to get the second dose of the vaccine. The reason for this is that the time-gap that occurs after the first dose of their vaccine has not been completed yet.

Apart from the vaccine, many steps have been taken by East Central Railway to protect its employees from Kovid-19 and medical emergency in case of emergency. In these, 6 hospitals have been designated for the treatment of patients of Kovid-19 where they are given proper care and treatment. A total of 206 beds have been reserved for the patients of Kovid-19 in these hospitals, out of which 30 beds of ICU and 176 beds of non-ICU have been reserved

Along with this, 27 invasive ventilators and 83 non-invasive ventilators have also been installed. Proper arrangements have been made for necessary medicines, oxygen concentrator, PPE kit, N-95 mask etc. for treatment in the hospitals. Necessary measures are also being taken for the treatment of young children in these hospitals.

Oxygen generation plants have started functioning in Danapur, Sonpur and Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Divisional Railway Hospitals of East Central Railway. Whereas machines for Oxygen Generation Plant are being set up at Central Super Specialty Hospital/Patna and Divisional Rail Hospital, Dhanbad and Samastipur and will start working here soon.

In this context, CPRO Rajesh Kumar of East Central Railway said that along with the above measures to deal with the new variant of Kovid-19 in a proper way, the Railways is maintaining constant coordination with the officials of the state governments. In this episode, booths have been set up by the state government at many stations of East Central Railway for screening and testing of Kovid-19.

Passengers coming by trains are being screened at the booths. These include Ara, Buxar, Patliputra, Danapur, Patna Jn., Rajendranagar Terminal, Patna City, Jehanabad, Bihar Sharif, Rajgir, Nawada, Sheikhpura, Barhiya, Lakhisarai, Kiul, Jamui, Jhajha and Hajipur, Sonpur, of Danapur division of Danapur division. Muzaffarpur, Barauni, Khagaria, Naugachia stations are included.
