More people go for their homes on these festivals, in view of which Indian Railways has decided to run 179 special trains with 2269 trips. In this festive season, Indian Railways is running 2,269 trips of 179 special trains till Chhath Puja this year for the convenience of rail passengers and to clear the extra rush of passengers, the Ministry of Railways said in a statement. According to the information, these special trains will be run on different routes of the country like Delhi-Patna, Delhi-Bhagalpur, Delhi-Muzaffarpur, Delhi-Saharsa etc.

If you are traveling or are about to travel for Diwali and Chhath, then you can get confirmed tickets in these trains and book by visiting IRCTC website. Also, booking of tickets in these trains can also be done from the mobile app.

What other facilities will the passengers get

  • Frequent and timely information about the arrival and departure of trains with platform numbers will be given.
  • “May I Help You” booths are kept operational at important stations where RPF and TTE will be available for proper assistance to the passengers.
  • There will be a medical team at the stations, an ambulance is also available along with a paramedical team.

Security arrangements deployed at stations
It has been informed by the Railways that security arrangements have been made at the stations in view of these festivals. Additional RPF personnel have been deployed at the stations. The ministry said that the employees have been deployed in different parts on priority basis to remove any hindrance in the train service.
