Earlier, PM Narendra Modi had asked the Civil Aviation Ministry and the DGCA to review their decision. The PM had said that it should be reviewed in view of the growing concerns about the Covid-19 variant Omicron.

After this, on December 1, 2021, DGCA canceled its decision of November 26 without informing. It was not clear how long the suspension of scheduled international flights would continue.
