Many taxpayers, who have already filed their returns, are wondering when they will get their refund (if any) from the Income Tax Department. Some people are also asking this question to the Income Tax Department on social media. For the time being, taxpayers should not worry about when they will get the refund. Instead, you should try to file an error-free return as soon as possible.

Experts say that it is difficult to estimate the exact time when you will get the refund. It may take 10 to 30 days or even more on a case to case basis. However, it is a fact that early return filers usually get their refund quickly if they have filed their returns correctly.

ITR filing during the last few days before the due date takes longer processing time. So, if you want to get your refund quickly then it is always better to file the return at the earliest.

Recently, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had also said that in the last few years the time for processing income tax returns has been reduced. He added that there has been a 100% increase in the overall percentage of ITRs processed within a day of filing as compared to last year.
