American car manufacturer Jeep has launched its famous SUV Jeep Meridian in the Indian market with a mild update. In this SUV, the company has given some updates that make it better than the previous model. Equipped with attractive looks and powerful engine, the starting price of this SUV has been fixed at Rs 24.99 lakh (ex-showroom). In the market, this SUV competes with models like Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster.
How is the new Jeep Meridian:
The company has introduced the updated Meridian in two different seating layouts 5-seater and 7-seater configurations. This SUV is available for sale in a total of four variants Longitude, Longitude Plus, Limited (O) and Overland. The company has started its official booking from today and this new model is available for sale at the company’s authorized dealerships across the country.
Talking about the look and design, the Jeep Meridian is largely the same as before. It has a slat grille, sleek LED headlamps, daytime running lights, 18-inch alloy wheels and sleek taillamps. Inside the cabin, premium material has been used on leather seats, dashboard and armrest with suede accents and copper stitching.
Power and Performance:
In this, the company has used a 2.0-liter diesel engine. Which generates 168bhp of power and 350Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed manual and 9-speed automatic torque converter transmission gearbox. The special thing is that this SUV is available with both two-wheel drive (4X2) and four-wheel drive (4X4) setups.

Cabin Features:
This includes a 10.1-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 10.2-inch digital instrument panel, wireless charger, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof and powered and ventilated front seats. The entry-level Longitude variant is being offered only in a five-seat variant, all other variants get a 7-seat layout as standard. However, some features like powered and ventilated front seats and sunroof are also not offered in the base variant.
ADAS Level-2 Safety:
Talking about safety features, the company claims that the new Meridian comes with more than 70 safety features. Its top-spec Overland trim has many new advanced features including ADAS Level-2 suite and more connectivity features. In which features like adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with collision mitigation braking, lane departure warning and lane keep assist are available. It has connected car technology including Alexa home to vehicle integration.
670 litres of boot space:
Jeep claims that the new 5-seater variant offers 670 liters of boot space, while the 7-seater variant offers up to 824 liters of boot space when the second row is folded. With all three rows in use, the 7-seater variant offers 170 liters of boot space.
