Airtel has now announced a new recharge plan for all its prepaid customers across nation, which is offering unlimited local and STD calling along with data benefits. The plan is also priced strategically at INR 995, with a validity period of 180 days. This Airtel’s Rs 995 recharge offer is launched to counter the Reliance Jio’s INR 999 recharge plan in the price war and neck to neck competition between the two telecom giants.

Under this INR 995 prepaid recharge plan, customers are entitled to 1 gigabyte (GB) 3G/4G data per month. Also, the pack recharge is valid for a duration of 180 days, which basically means that you will be getting 6 gigabyte (GB) of 3G/4G data in the time frame of 180 days. Also, this prepaid recharge plan is offering 100 SMSes per day with unlimited local and STD calling facilities. This prepaid recharge plan is valid for all the circles across India.

It should also be highlighted that Airtel is also offering a long-term INR 999 prepaid recharge plan. This recharge plan is coming with unlimited local/STD voice calls, with a total of 60GB 3G/4G internet data, and 100 SMSes every day. This recharge plan will be valid for 90 days.

In terms of the neck to neck competition, this Airtel’s Rs 995 recharge offer directly competes with the Reliance Jio’s very popular INR 999 plan. The Reliance Jio recharge plan in this bracket is offering unlimited across India calls with 60GB data over 90 days with 100 SMSes per day. Additionally, you will also get access to all the Reliance Jio’s apps, and there will be no FUP limits on the data usage.

Airtel is currently India’s largest telecom operator and has recently revamped all its INR 199,INR 448 and INR 509 prepaid plans because of the tough competition which Reliance Jio and all other telecom operators is offering in the open market. This open market competition has forced to bring down the data rates of all the telecom operators in India.
