Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana: The central government runs many schemes to help the country’s donors. One of these schemes is the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY), which the government has approved to continue till 31 March 2026.
With an allocation of Rs 4,600 crore, the Ministry of Food Processing has announced to continue the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana from 2021-22 to 2025-26.
What is Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana?
Through this scheme, the government aims to offer a comprehensive package that will contribute to the creation of modern infrastructure with efficient supply chain management from farm gate to retail outlet.
This scheme has been prepared to promote the development of food processing sector in India. It is also expected that PMKSY will help in providing better price to the farmers, which will also generate employment.

4,600 crores allocated by the government
The scheme is envisaged to reduce the wastage of agricultural produce, boost the export of processed food items by increasing the processing level. The central government has allocated Rs 4,600 crore for the scheme.
The salient features of the scheme are
integrated cold chain and value addition infrastructure, creation of infrastructure for agro-processing clusters, creation or expansion of food processing and preservation capabilities, food safety and quality assurance infrastructure and human resources and institutions – research and development. The plan has massive outlays.
Expected investment of Rs 11.095 crore
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana is expected to attract an investment of Rs 11.095 crore. This can benefit 28,49,945 farmers and generate 5,44,432 direct and indirect employment in the country by the financial year 2025-2026.
